I've met one of the gentlemen who installed the replacement floor in the house around 1975. Locust joists and girders were cut near Whitetop, red oak rough sawn lumber was used as a subfloor and covered with plywood. Below is a picture of the termite damage we found in the oak subfloor underneath the plywood. The locust had been mostly mud tunnelled over by the termites and left undamaged.
The lower right picture shows an enhanced view of a new footing with fresh termite mud tunnels already on it less than a week after being poured. We have since had the structure and footings treated for termites
